Alucarda = devil worshiping naked fun. It seems like a film you would have seen 35 years ago as a grindhouse release in an old grimy looking theatre, where your feet stick to floor from spilled town.
Alucarda is a mild mannered young woman living at a convent with sisters. The trouble begins when Alucarda and another girl journey into the forest one day, coming across a strange man, wearing a goat skin vest and appearing to have adopted a gypsy lifestyle. When he convinces the two to back to his camp their curiosity gets the better of them and they follow. After visiting for a short time they return to the convent but before long are visited by their friend again. Here, it's revealed that their visitor is none other than Lucifer who then commits Alucarda and Daniela to his service through a blood ritual where they cut and drink blood from each others breasts.
Hell follows.
Filled with plenty of blood (including a coffin full), screaming, outward christian opposition, and nudity, Alucarda is a really fun underground film that can be called cheesy at times, but doesn't deny its nature.
There are several mesmerizing scenes in Alucarda including a mass orgy at what seems to be a sabbath, satanic chants during a christian mass, the attack and extreme vengeance pm the covent in the form of fiery human sacrifices and much more.
Alucarda isn't an intellectual movie by any means but it is a great occult/devil worshipping movie which stands out from the rest with it's eerie atmosphere, strange score and gripping visuals.
